This is really the sketch book notion in action. Toying with this photo to get the most out of it. I'm sure I'm not done with the poses of this model and there are other poses I haven't touched yet so I will be with this for at least the rest of the month.

As I continue to post new photos and refer back to them and change them sometime and sometimes leave as they are I am beginning to appreciate this assemblage of images as an online sketch book. Posting these images and my thoughts about them is allowing me a wonderful opportunity to see my personal vision unfold and recognize ever so slowly yet deliberately why I make photographs.... what I am up to ... why it is important for me to look and see...and of course for anyone else who ends up here they can look and see with me.

Body Parts Out of Context #1

About five years ago I started a series of drawings that I called body Parts Out of Context. My good friend Peter Vilbig owns one of the pieces that I completed from the series. This photograph is a return to exploring the societal perceptions that are being developed in our collective consciousness regarding how we relate to each others bodies and often time parts of bodies. Are we hard wired to address our attention to particular bodies parts or are the attractions a learned behavior whose origin lies in how we think about ourselves and our lives together?
